310314 Monday Rain and Your Metabolic Engine - CrossFit Fibre

The Rain is here. Winter is over. Here are the wet and wonderful days. Excellent. My kind of weather. Yes weird, but it makes me just a little happier. The cool, the moist, coupled with a cup of coffee. Mmmmmmm.

The Open is over. 14.5 dusted. If you want to come in and try the Purgatory of a workout, the two most hated movements, well, you can come on down here and have a decent crack at this one. It really sucks but we love it. The thrusters and burpee WOD was remarkably tough and one that tested your metabolic conditioning. Without this component in your physical development, you would be in a serious amount of struggle. As what the commentators mentioned in the Live Coverage, ‘this was a test of your engine’. True enough, the athlete with the biggest engine won the race.

Conditioning the engine takes time. There is no shortcut to this method. It is a grueling and continuous process that requires frequency. Any lapse or lack of commitment will be severely punished. Of course there are many ways to train this beast and at the end of the day it all boils down to volume and intensity in progressive amounts. If you have not done enough of it, you will be sure to feel the WODs for days after.
